Wells Fargo celebrates its 150th anniversary. The company boasts a rich history and the ability to withstand time's hardships. Today, there are 4,900 banking locations in twenty-three states with over 6,400 ATMs. San Francisco is still the site of the company's current headquarters. Wells Fargo has 120,000 diversified team members and $308 billion in assets. Today's Wells Fargo is a result of more than 2000 mergers and acquisitions across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

Wells Fargo's Chief Historian, Dr. Andy Anderson comments on the anniversary celebration, "It dawned on Wells Fargo that it wasn't a stagecoach company any more, it was, and still is today, a connecting company."(7)

Far from the good old stagecoach days, the bank uses armored car services such as Dunbar and Brinks, Inc. to transport currency and coin to the bank. The Wells Fargo Armored Car Service was a separate company who had permission to use the name and the pony rider logo. This company had a long standing, exclusive license from Wells Fargo & Company and they now operate as Loomis, Fargo & Company, not a part of Wells Fargo & Company or Wells Fargo Bank. In the San Diego Division, we utilize Brinks, Inc. for the shipment of our monies.

Wells Fargo has surely come a long way. I would like to share some pictures of the branch I work at in East El Cajon. We are leaders in the realm of customer service and explore every avenue possible to assist all of our customers.
