KISSINGER'S IDEOLOGY

Kissinger's ideals are based on from America's nationalistic views.  Since the U.S. played such a strong role in the Suez conflict, it was a fuel of European resentment to the growing power of the United States. Since the clash between the two different worlds was never resolved and it played big parts in the advancement of the 3rd world  countires and foriegn diplomacy of the West.  Much of Kissinger's opinions on the main source of the conflict was upon the shoulders of Nasser,  the Egyptian ruler.  His tyranical and revolutional ways was a spreading  pont to much of the Middle East.
Many of  his problems waere based on the lack of understanding the PLO beliefs.  The group in reality was unable to be a stabalizer for the Arab world. The U.S. has no benifit or purpose form what the Arab nations did  because of the major reliance on the Soviet Union. All the problems that Israel has had to facehas served no purpose to anyone and in the long run ,  only been a waste of human life.  It is not fair to have Israel's  peace rely on the outcomes of the West Bank and Gaza Strip,  so that peace comes form concrete content and legitimate neogotiations.  Yet,  the diginity and self respect of  the Arab nations should not be forgoteen.  But the U.S. had adppted 2 complementary policies that were led by Kissinger to bloc every Arab move hat resulted from Soviet military support or involved their military threats; and it took charge of the peace process.  the major problem the U.S. had between the two groups was that the U.S. did not believe the Arab warnings. In the end, Israel had been able to defend its self and continue on as an independent nations (1) (2).
To Kissinger and Nixon,  the thought of the Israeli forces gaining strengh,  might in the long run,  cause a whole new set of problems. If the officials knew that America was there to stand behind them,  then as time wore on,  they might later try and pressure more favors.  When the Syrain forces attacked Israel,  it was with a liitle help that they were able to fight them off,  but if it were to happen again,  then they would be strong engough to defend themselves. Kissinger did little help in the Syrain internal cirsis,  but through all the problems,  Nixon and Kissinger were very relieved that Israel,  did not put out much of a fight (3).
Nixon visited Israel just after the Juen conquest of lands from Egypt, Jordan and Syria and he recorded in his memories: " I was impressedby the courage and toughness of the Israeli leaders and people. But I was disturbed by the fact that their swift and overwhelming vicotry over the Arabs [in 1967] had created a feeling of overconfidence about their ability to win a war in the future, and an attitude of total intransigence on negotiating any peace agreement that would involve  return of any of the territories they had occupied" (4). According to Brecher,  when Kissinger was trying to find any options during the war,  his recceptivity was much greater, hence the widening of how others will offer their opionion.  Before each major decision was to be made,  his stress level would rise and it can cause a panic and a slight strain to thinking clearly.  This may be one reason why many would questing his actions,  because he was really unable to think the whole process out because of the imideate response needed.(5).
